Tatooine is the most remote planet in the galaxy, but it is the planet that our Heroes most often visit, in all episodes. It is controlled by the Hutts, slug-like gangsters. Tatooine has two suns and is nothing but sand dunes. The exact opposite of Hoth (the planet of ice), it is tolerable but is scarcely populated. Tatooine's original species is a Tusken Raider, although many others also inhabit it now. It is the perfect place for people who don't want to be found.... Where do you want to go:

In The Phantom Meanace, Queen Amidala escapes her ravaged planet of Naboo and crash lands on Tatoonie, meeting her future husband, Anakin/Darth Vader, who is a 9 year-ld slave. Anakin, who is currently making C-3PO, introduces them all to his mom and continuously shows signs of possessing the force. Being only 14 herself, Amidala disguises herself as one of her own handmaidens and tours the spaceport with Qui-Gon Jinn, her Jedi protector for the time being. The Jedi, Jar Jar Binks (a native from Naboo), and Amidala (a.k.a. Padme) try and barter with the cunning Watto for parts to fix their damaged ship but do not prevail. So with their Jedi instincts, Qui-Gon Jinn and Anakin weasel their way into a pod race, conning Watoo into betting the parts they need and Anakin's freedom. If they succeed, which of course they do, they will try and take off to the capitol planet, Corucsant....

In A New Hope, Luke, still an innoent farm boy, and his temporary uncle Owen buy droids from Jawas for their moisture farm. Luke cleans the droids out stumbling upon a desperate message from the beautiful Princess Leia. In an attempt to see the message further he removes the restraining bolt form the little R2-D2 and leaves to witness a space battle in the sky. R2-D2 taking his new freedom goes in search of Obi-Won Kenobi, his former master to deliver Leia's message. Luke and C-3PO go in search of him and fall into danger on the brink of finding their friend and are raided by Sand People. In the nick of time, old Ben Kenobi comes to their resuce and takes them in (including R2-D2) and is shown the desperate message from Leia requesting he give this droid containing mportant rebel info to her father. Trying to convince Luke to accompany him on his quest, gives him his father's lightsaber. Upon finding his aunt and uncle dead (raided by stormtroopers looking for R2-D2), goes with Ben to Mos Vespa to find a pilot. Meeting Han Solo, a smuggler in need of some cash, convince him to take them to Alderaan...
